Burlington Man Guilty of Shoplifting $600,000 in Merchandise

John Strang faces up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to stealing large amounts of items from stores in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Burlington resident John Strang pleaded guilty on Tuesday on charges that he stole more than half a million dollars in items and sold them at a discounted rate to people across the country, MassLive.com reports.

According to MassLive.com, the 67-year-old Strang pleaded guilty to interstate transportation of stolen property.

The prosecution said the Burlington resident shoplifted from numerous stores beginning in 2007. The website reported that Strang stole as much as $600,000 in merchandise that included books, audiobooks and Legos.

As a result of the guilty plea, Strang could be sentenced to 10 years in prison when he returns to court on October 15, MassLive.com reported.
