New Businesses Set To Open in Burlington in 2014

See which businesses are set to open this year.

The Burlington business community always has a lot in the works. 

As can be seen in our top 10 business stories of 2013, there is almost always a new business opening and others closing. 

2014 will be no exception. We already know of a number of new businesses set to open in Burlington this year and we're listing them below. Did we miss an incoming business? Let us know in the comments section below. 

Businesses set to open in Burlington in 2014: 

Wegmans - The most anticipated new business of the year thus far. The new Wegmans will be the flagship store of the 3rd Avenue project. 

Wegmans, which has signed a 30 year lease with Nordblom with options to renew, is planning to build a 135,000 square foot facility with adjacent parking for 800 vehicles. The plans include a 14,000 square foot mezzanine overlooking a food court, an outdoor café and outdoor cooking classes.  Patrons will be able to enter and exit Wegmans from Third Avenue, Fourth Avenue or from Network Drive via Second Avenue.

Wegmans is set to open in Spring of this year. 

Kings Bowl Kings Bowl will also be part of the 3rd Avenue project. 

The Kings bowling alley will feature a 296-seat restaurant in a 27,000 square foot building and will have 24 bowling alleys. The total occupancy is over 600 people. The location will feature a full bar and at-alley food and drink service. During the daytime Kings will be available for birthday parties. There will also be a function room for business meetings and gatherings.

The Bancroft - This high-end steak house will also be part of the 3rd Avenue project. The 8,500 square foot restaurant will be owned by the Webber Restaurant Group. The Webber Restaurant Group owns the Gibbet Hill Grill in Groton, the Scarlet Oak Tavern in Hingham, and Fireside Catering in Burlington.

The high-end steak house with seasonal, locally-sourced menu options. The restaurant will appeal to the youthful, urban crowd.

Redstone American Grill - This casual American restaurant will also be part of the 3rd Avenue project. According to a release from the Burlington-based Nordblom Company, which owns the property, Redstone has signed a 10,000 square foot lease. 

Redstone American Grill is a full-service, polished casual restaurant specializing in classic American food using fresh ingredients and visually appealing presentations. All of the restaurant's locations feature wood burning rotisseries and open flame grills where its signature chicken, seasonal fish and steaks are prepared. The menu also offers a selection of fresh chilled salads, homemade soups, unique appetizers and unforgettable desserts. 

Tony C's - This sports-themed restaurant will have 252 seats inside and a patio with an additional 80 seasonal seats and will be part of the 3rd Avenue project. It will be sport a primarily baseball theme and the exterior has features based on Fenway Park. Inside there will be big screens to watch the game and sports memorabilia. Tony C's will have a slightly lower price point than many of the restaurants in town.

The restaurant will feature an extensive menu, including a children's menu, and the owners hope for it to be a destination for Burlington families. 

Cambridge Savings BankThere will be a 3,300 square foot Cambridge Savings Bank on 3rd Avenue. 

Cambridge Savings Bank's new banking center will offer a full line of financial services, including checking and savings, residential and commercial lending, and investment services, the release states. The bank will also include a business center for use by business clients during and after business hours.

Del Frisco's Grill - This American grill with an upscale menu will be located at the newly rezoned 90 Middlesex Turnpike, according to HomeNewsHere.com. The restaurant will be 8,000 square feet and have 199 seats.
