Are you freaking kidding me?!?! An animal bill for foreclosed properties? Get a clue!

How about the poor slob who's been foreclosed on? This is the problem we face today as a society that has too much - too much time, too much disposable income and too much stupidity when we care more about domestic animals, pets, rather than our fellow human beings.

How the Hell does someone make good on this?! Do you really think the affected party is going to give a hoot about any pets, versus the debt they are in?

My God, you dolts need to take a few more Valium and chill, leaving the rest of us that are trying to make progress to get on with the real world.

Haynes Parent - enough with the Beth bashing. Yes she's a town employee, but she swore no oath, doesn't carry a gun and isn't responsible for sending men & women in harm's way to protect & serve Sudbury residents. You sound like a 7 year old who dropped their ice cream on the ground!

While I agree it's most unfortunate that Chief Glavin has put himself in this situation, the Town can't and shouldn't put itself in a position where similar poor judgment could create significant risk. I'm EXTREMELY concerned when (Sudbury citizens?) like Tat31 and "amf" believe there's room for a police officer, carrying a 9mm pistol and shotgun in the town car, could be afforded more tolerance than a 2nd grader trying to steal a valentines kiss at school - ZERO TOLERANCE means zero. Those sworn to uphold the law cannot be given a free pass, period.

Hey So01776 - Scott's done a super job of articulating his own position of things. His "Stakeholders" charter seems pretty full and will likely require continued support from his constituency. Maybe keep the derisive, mean spirited and spiteful personal attacks for your own 1:1 conversations, or better yet not at all. There's already enough bad blood on the mat, let's not worry about former members and stay focused on moving forward!

Most would say that running truly unopposed - without anyone pulling papers, is a de facto vote of confidence in Bob Haarde, both as a person and in his agenda (though clearly not by the definition of some).
And yes, “Lavender-gate” did indeed germinate from the inculcation of the lacking transparency and moral compass of the BoS, but NOT at the hands of Mr. Haarde. So those who spew venom should do so in another direction. Perhaps toward those who would rather discuss the BoS officers reorganization in an un-noticed meeting agenda item, departing from years of history to rotate the Chair. It is THAT intentional division that spawned a group of town residents that look to change that kind of behavior as it stands in the way of getting things accomplished and spurns distrust.
Personally, I'd much prefer to have a Selectman that has to recuse himself for conflict of interest because of who his employer is versus a decision by Town Counsel regarding potential personal litigation.

Bob, I hope you are successful in your second term. I also hope it is high on your agenda for the board to have it put in writing that:
    • The Chair rotates EVERY year
    • The agenda can be mutually agreed, rather than dictated by the Chair, and
    • The opportunity for public discussion not be limited to pre-submitted questions

All are forms of unnecessary censorship and a blockade to openness and transparency.

This is an excellent example of exactly what SHOULD become a template for conversation and communication of the status of the SPS between the Committee and the Town/Public. This should be impelmented for all our Boards and Committees and seems applicable with few minor adjustments, to address the specific stakeholders for each group. This could then, as an example, bubble up into, say a Town wide forum on the State of the Town, led perhaps by the BOS.

Sorry but you may want to change your moniker to Ignorance is Miscommunication. You've made my point entirely. 40B's are NOT "planned". 40B allows, patently, developers to avoid, step around or out rightly stomp upon local development bylaws. Neither the Planning Board nor the Planner has an ounce of authority to influence the process. The hearings by the ZBA are only to ensure that no blatant disregard for the community can come of the 40B project and are more formality than rebuttal opportunity. Sudbury hasn't proposed any "friendly 40Bs" because we can't afford them, either financially or human resource wise, and would likely do a crappy job at it. And every time an affordable housing initiative comes about, the NIMBY's scream bloody murder. Again, scream at your state reps!

Haynes Parent, careful, your ingnorance is in full bloom.

40B is a STATE law. It leaves towns little or no rebuttal until >10% of their housing stock is considered affordable or there is a housing production plan. Jody put one of those in place by the way. She has zero impact on how the process unfurls, who applies or where a 40B can be placed. Sudbury may have voted to repeal the legislation, but the state did NOT. In addition, Sudbury continues to vote in the same dopes that did and DO support 40B at the state level, so aim your rocks at the mirror and the state house.

Well, it's clear that Devalue now has it out for every Student, Parent and Employee individual in the Commonwealth. Why do people keep voting for these Liberals who only want to TELL the constituents where they know better on how to allocate (redistribute) your hard-earned wealth?! Federal exemptions be damned!
