Not Your Average Joe's Collecting Teddy Bears for Newtown Families

Drop off Teddy Bears to Not Your Average Joe's in the Wayside plaza and they will be delivered to the families of those affected by the tragic school shooting.

Not Your Average Joe's is asking the communities support to help bring comfort to the families who lost loved ones in last week's tragic school shooting that killed 26 people, including 20 children. The restaurant posted to its Facebook page: "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and community of Newtown, CT. In [light] of the recent events, our Newburyport, Acton and Burlington locations are accepting donations of teddy bears to donate to the children and families affected by this horrible tragedy. If you live near or are by one of these restaurants, please consider donating. Their goal is to raise 550. Thanks for the consideration and support." Support Burlington Council on Aging With a Meal at Not Your Average Joe's

Not Your Average Joe's is donating 15 percent of each meal ordered on a Tuesday to the Burlington Council on Aging.

The following is a release by the Town of Burlington: Not Your Average Joe's is helping the Burlington Council on Aging during this December Holiday season.  Every Tuesday in December (and the Wednesday after Christmas) Not Your Average Joe's at the Wayside Common in Burlington will donate 15% of every eat in and take out meal (food only) to the Council on Aging.  You can either present a flyer available at the Council on Aging at 61 Center St or online at www.burlington.org.  You can also just let your server know you are with the Council on Aging.

Not Your Average Joe's will donate 15-percent of any meal to the Burlington Relay on each Tuesday in June.

Burlington's Relay for Life may be over, but there are still ways to make a difference in the fight against cancer, and one of them is as easy as ordering a meal. Relay for Life has been chosen for the fundraiser for the month of June for Not Your Average Joe’s. It’s easy – all you have to do is eat at Not Your Average Joe’s on a Tuesday in the month of June (5, 12, 19, 26) and present the attached coupon. Not Your Average Joe’s will donate 15% of sales (excludes alcohol, tax and gratuity) to Relay For Life of Burlington.

Support BHS Music Boosters With a Meal at Not Your Average Joe's

Not Your Average Joe's is donating 15 percent of each meal ordered on a Tuesday to the Burlington High School Music Boosters.

Supporting the Burlington High School Music Boosters just got as easy as ordering lunch. That's because the the boosters were offered the opportunity to benefit form Not Your Average Cause, hosted by Not Your Average Joe's. Every Tuesday, from open to close, in the month of March will be BHS Music Night, where the boosters will receive 15 percent of the total purchase of anyone who present the attached certificate. So on March 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th head to NYAJ's (locally at Wayside Commons) and eat-in or take-out. Small Kitchen Fire at Not Your Average Joe's

One employee was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation but was released soon after.

Visitors to the Wayside Commons this evening probably noticed some commotion at Not Your Average Joe's. Lt. John Skinner of the Burlington Fire Department confirmed that there was a small kitchen fire at the restaurant early this evening that forced an evacuation of the premises. A pot of oil caught on fire, he said, setting off the sprinkler system. A fast-acting employee put out the flame with a hand-held fire extinguisher. One kitchen employee was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation, Skinner said. A manager of the restaurant, who did not want to be named on record, said around 7:20 p.m. that she had spoken with the employee and that he had already been released. Updated: Support Education by Grabbing a Bite to Eat at Not Your Average Joe's

Not Your Average Joe's is donating 15 percent of each meal ordered on a Tuesday to the Middle School

Supporting education at Marshall Simonds Middle School just got as easy as ordering lunch. That is because of a new fund-raising effort coordinated between the school's PTO and Not Your Average Joe's, located in the Wayside Commons. Every Tuesday through the end of April, customers will have the opportunity to support the school every time they eat at Joe's. That is because the middle school is the current recipient of the restaurant's Not Your Average Cause program, which donates 15 percent of the amount of the cost of a meal to a local cause.
