With more than 60 percent of Americans overweight and obese, weight loss is very often the most common New Year’s Resolution. The Burlington Mall and Lahey Clinic are teaming up for a fall walking program at the mall.
Enjoy walking for exercise and looking for a way to stay in shape even as the weather turns bad? The Burlington Mall has partnered with Lahey Clinic to launch an innovative, new Mall Walkers Program to promote health and wellness starting today at 8:00 am. The community is invited to lace up their walking shoes and join Lahey’s staff, Burlington’s town officials, Burlington Mall Management and fellow striders to kick off the Mall Walkers Program on September 18. Walkers will enjoy a welcome speech, free breakfast, a complimentary pedometer and water bottle and the camaraderie of other walkers. “We’re excited to be involved in this unique community partnership with Burlington Mall for the launch of this innovative Mall Walkers program,” …

A look back at the stories covered this week at Burlington Patch
This was a busy week at Burlington Patch. In case you missed anything, here is a roundup of what we covered this week. The weather played a big part in this week's news. There was the snow and ice mix on Tuesday that caused some problems for the evening commute and, of course, the second dose of snow we received Friday morning. Also on the theme of the weather, we featured a story of Xavier Gallegos, who was born in the midst of the blizzard on Jan. 12 to parents Lisa Gallegos and Jose Galvan. We also had a few stories on healthy living this week.
