UPDATE, 1:30 p.m.: The Massachusetts travel ban will end at 4 p.m. this afternoon. Updated Saturday at 12:40 p.m. The snow has fallen and crews are out in force to clear the roads. According to NSTAR's power outage map, there are no major power outages in town. The travel ban decreed yesterday by Gov. Deval Patrick is still in effect until "further notice." The rationale is that the ban will make it easier for plows to clear the roads. There is no mail delivery today. Police arrested three Lawrence residents on charges of larceny over $250.
Burlington Police have arrested three people and charged them with stealing from stores at the Burlington Mall. According to a release from the Burlington Police Department, on Thursday, Jan. 31, police arrested three people they say stole from stores at the mall. The people are believed to have stolen several thousand dollars worth of items over the past month, the release says. Detectives working surveillance at the mall encountered the trio in the parking lot as they attempted to flee. Police recovered several bags of stolen items from their car, the release says. David Baker, Yesenna Torres and Vilma Torres, all of Lawrence, were arrested and charged with several counts of larceny over $250.

Eager diners lined up in the cold weather outside of the Burlington Mall this past Sunday for a chance to try a burger from one of the Food Network's most recognizable stars. Bobby's Burger Palace held its grand opening on Sunday, Jan. 27. The restaurant is located at the Burlington Mall and has it's own entrance. Flay himself was in attendance to welcome customers to the new restaurant. This is the first Bobby's Burger Palace in Massachusetts and the 13th one opened to date. Flay is best known for his televisions shows and the shows he participates in on the Food Network, including Throwdown with Bobby Flay, Bobby Flay's Barbecue Addiction and Iron Chef America. Bobby's Burger Palace is holding its grand opening at the Burlington Mall.
Bobby's Burger Palace, owned by television chef star Bobby Flay, is set to open in the Burlington Mall this Sunday. According to a release from the restaurant, Flay will introduce his first restaurant in the state of Massachusetts with the opening of Bobby’s Burger Palace (BBP) in Burlington, the 13th location nationwide. "BBP offers an assortment of burgers inspired by Bobby’s extensive travels throughout America and his love of the grill in a casual and convenient setting." Over the weekend, students at Dance Studio of Wakefield gave an impromptu performance at the Burlington Mall.
Thanks to Diane Abraham of Dance Studio of Wakefield for sending a link to this video of some of her students doing a "contagious dance," or flash mob-style performance for shoppers at the Burlington Mall. The students were reportedly invited to do the performance by mall management. Check out the video here!
