Wegmans, Kings Sites Progressing and Project Now on Social Media

The 3rd Avenue Northwest Park now has Facebook and Twitter accounts and through them we've learned the general opening dates for Wegmans and Kings.

Work on the sites for Wegmans and the Kings bowling alley are progressing as construction has re-started this spring. As reported on Patch, Wegman's grocery store will be going in at 53 Third Ave. and the Kings bowling alley will be at 52 Second Ave. Since the last update on the sites, the Wegmans parcel looks a bit further along. Rocks and other obstacles have been removed and a lot of earth has been moved about. The Kings site across the street is still mostly a parking lot but there is machinery making progress. (Check out our pictures of the two sites above). The Northwest Park project also has entered the realm of social media. There is now a Facebook and Twitter account for the "3rd Ave Burlington" project. Thus far the accounts have…

TELL US: What Would You Like to See in NorthWest Park?

There will be a variety of restaurants and retail stores in the project with Wegman's and Kings. What would your choice be to fill one of those slots?

As reported on Burlington Patch this morning, NorthWest park will feature a Wegman's grocery store, a Kings bowling alley and an apartment building, but there will be a lot of free space for restaurants and retail locations. Also, according to the project web site, there will be a mix of restaurants, some featuring outdoor dining, and retail locations. However, the specifics of what those restaurants and retail locations will be is still a mystery. Burlington Senior Planner Don Benjamin said the applications by those businesses for Planning Board review …

I think the only reason they voted against D&B was the location. Mr Raymond kept bringing up a random incident in NY but the whole problem was the location. At least 2 members said if it was anywhere else they would probably be for it.   more ›
