Police: Missing Woman Found Half-Mile from Assisted Living Facility

The Burlington Police Department has issued an update on this morning's search for a missing woman.

The Burlington Police Department has issued a statement updating the public on this morning's succesful search for a 70-year-old woman with mild dimensia who was reported missing from the Sunrise Assisted Living Facility. According to police, on January 11, 2013 at 5:32 a.m. the Burlington Police Department received a telephone call from the Sunrise Assisted Living Facility located at 24 Mall Road regarding a missing elderly woman. Initial reports stated that the 70 year old female suffered from mild dementia and had last been seen at 5 a.m. Burlington Police Officers responded to the assisted living facility and began a search of the building and the area surrounding the facility, the release continues. Burlington Police: Missing Assisted Living Resident Found

A resident reported missing from an assisted living facility this morning has been found, police say.

  A 70-year-old Sunrise Assisted Living resident who went missing early this morning has been found, police said. According to a Burlington Police post on Facebook, the resident has been found. "Burlington Police would like to thank all who assisted in the operation," the post said.  Burlington Police tweeted earlier this morning that the resident, a woman, had dementia and is "fast moving."  Initial reports of the missing resident came in just after 6 a.m. Friday, but it's reported that staffers had not seen the woman since 4 a.m. K9 teams were on scene to assist with the search, which has now ended.
