Do You Think We'll Get Snow? NWS Says It's Likely

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch; do you think we'll see snow?

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter storm watch for our area, including Burlington, beginning Wednesday afternoon and continuing through Thursday afternoon.  Snow, sleet and freezing rain are possible. Accumulations of snow could be four to eight inches of "dry snow."  NWS said snow will begin Wednesday afternoon and continue through Thursday night. The heaviest snowfall could fall late Wednesday night into Thursday morning.  NWS said travel may be impacted, especially during the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes as snowfall may be fast enough to affect visibility.  Winds may gust up to 15 MPH, temperatures will be in the mid-30s and visibility may be reduced to a quarter to a half mile at times. Snow Expected This Weekend, Safety Tips for Driving in the Snow

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Middlesex County, including Burlington. The storm, which may stretch from Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning, could dump four to eight inches of snow on the area. NWS predicted the storm will be a mix of rain and snow. Leaves on the trees coupled with heavy wet snow may cause branches to break with power outages possible. NWS is also predicting strong northeast winds. “The potential for heavy impact with this early season winter storm is possible. Heavy wet snow could cause hazardous driving conditions as well as widespread power outages,” reported the NWS.
