Farley Pours Home Historic Point Total for Red Devils
Burlington junior Shane Farley torched Wilmington for a school record 50 points last week.
Shane Farley wasn’t just filling up the score sheet for fun. The game was on the line. During a game February 15 versus Wilmington, the Burlington junior poured home a jaw-dropping 50 points as the Red Devils went to overtime and earned a 76-70 overtime victory over the Wildcats. The point total now sits as the best in school history. “Shane’s performance was phenomenal,” said Burlington basketball coach Tom Lyons. "The biggest thing is that usually when you get someone who scores that many points, it’s not a close game. We needed every one of Shane’s points to win that game.” As strong as Farley was from the floor, he was even better from the free throw line.
