Marshfield wasn't enough to slow down Burlington High School, which used its veteran experience to win the Division 1 title with a 4-2 win at TD Garden.
It was so nice, the Burlington High School boys hockey team decided to do it twice. The Red Devils completed their Division 1 title defense on Sunday night at TD Garden when they dominated Marshfield and earned a 4-2 state championship victory. Joe Berardi opened the scoring while Sean Murphy put home two goals of his own in the contest. J.P. Scola capped the scoring when he put home a rebound, and Burlington sealed its second straight title. "It's a great accomplishment for our kids. It was on our mind all year, but who knows if you can do it. It's a tough, tough road to get here," said head coach Bob Conseison. "To win this game is incredible to us. It's great for our town, for our program, but more importantly for the 22 athletes to who…

Hosts allowed Red Devils to stay too long, end up with first tie of the season.
As Emily Post said, a good host is someone who not only knows when it is a good time to begin a party – never later than 8 p.m. – but also when to send the guests home. A group which overstays their welcome can put a serious damper on the get together. And in a rare Monday morning soiree at Harris Field, Oct. 8, Belmont High's Girls' Soccer team let a young but opportunistic Burlington High School eleven to hang around for too long and suffered for it, as senior midfielder Katie Han scored with 10 minutes remaining in the contest to hand the Marauders its first tie of the season (7-3-1). Han's strike – which came at the end of a five-pass sequence with Cate Hoyt providing the final pass – from the 18 meter mark just found enough space …
