Tuna Fish Recall Expanded

Bumble Bee has increased its voluntary recall to include more tuna fish cans.

  A day after voluntarily recalling cans of tuna fish, Bumble Bee Foods expanded the recall to include more cans, according to the FDA. The reason for the recall is loose seals or seams that could result in product contamination “by spoilage organisms or pathogens and lead to illness if consumed.” The problem was linked to a manufacturing line issue, which has been corrected, said the FDA. The recalled tuna fish was distributed for retail sale between Jan. 17 and March 6, 2013. Bumble Bee Foods SVP of Technical Services and Corporate Quality Assurance Steve Mavity, said: "Due to can integrity concerns, our top priority at this time is to remove these recalled products from distribution as soon as possible. Major Recall of Baby Recliners Announced

Following the deaths of several children, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is working to get the recliners out of homes.

  At the request of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, four retailers are voluntarily recalling Nap Nanny baby recliners after several deaths and more than 100 cases of a child falling or nearly falling out. The companies participating in the recall are Amazon.com, Buy Buy Baby, Diapers.com and Toys R Us/Babies R Us. The models include Nap Nanny Generations One and Two and the Chill™ model infant recliners. "CPSC is warning parents and caregivers that these baby recliners contain defects in the design, warnings and instructions, which pose a substantial risk of injury and death to infants," the agency said in its announcement. Engine Fires Ignite Ford Escape, Fusion Recalls

It's the fourth recall for the brand-new Escape. Ford is offering loaner cars to buyers until they can fix the problem.

  The 2013 Ford Escape is undergoing its fourth recall since its introduction this spring. Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 89,000 new Escape SUVs and Fusion sedans because the engines can overheat and cause fires. The Escape is a top seller for Ford. The 2013 version went on sale in the spring, and it already has had problems with coolant leaks, cracked fuel lines and carpet padding. Both the Fusion and Escape are among Ford's top-selling vehicles selling a combined 427,000 already this year, according to Autodata Corp. Sunscreen Recalled After People Catch Fire

The recall includes UltraMist Sport, UltraMist Ultra Defense and UltraMist Kids.

  Banana Boat sunscreen is being recalled after some of the products resulted in users catching fire, reported the Huffington Post. The voluntary recall includes UltraMist Sport, UltraMist Ultra Defense and UltraMist Kids. There have been five reports of people suffering burns after using the sunscreen in the past year, according to a spokesman of Energizer Holdings, which makes Banana Boat sunscreen. The company notified the FDA of the recall. Consumers can call 1-800-SAFESUN for more information about the recall.

RECALL: Two Dog Treats Sold at Target

Two types of treats are being recalled because of possible salmonella contamination.

  Kasel Associated Industries is voluntarily recalling its Boots & Barkley Roasted American Pig Ears and Boots & Barkley American Variety Pack Dog Treats because of possible salmonella contamination. The products were distributed nationally through Target stores in August 2012, according to the FDA.  According to the FDA: Salmonella can sicken animals that eat these products and humans are at risk for salmonella poisoning from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the pet products or any surfaces exposed to these products.  Healthy people infected with Salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea …
