Online quiz helps voters find the candidate whose views most closely match their own.

With all the news discussion on different policies, tax plans and social issues, it can be difficult to decide which candidate for president matches your own views the best. An online quiz on ISideWith.com is trying to help voters decide. The quiz asked voters to select their stances on foreign and domestic issues and the results are then compared with the policy positions of the candidates in order to show quiz takers which candidate has the most similar views. The quiz only takes a couple of minutes to complete. A look at the quiz results for Massachusetts shows that 61 percent of the Commonwealth voters who took it side most closely with President Obama. 51 percent side most closely with Green Party candidate Jill Stein, 45 percent are …

Sen. Donnelly Meets President Obama

Burlington's state senator meets a famous colleague.

State Sen. Ken Donnelly recently met President Barack Obama at a Boston event in June.  It was Donnelly's first time meeting the president. "It was an honor to meet President Obama last night," the senator wrote on his Facebook page. "I was able to thank him for all he has done for our country and let him know that I am looking forward to what he will do in his second term!"

Question of the Day: Do You Think the Debt Ceiling Agreement Will Pass?

On Sunday President Obama and Congressional leaders from both parties agreed to a deal to end the debt ceiling debate.  According to the Washington Post the deal will allow the debt ceiling to be raised by as much as $2.4 trillion, an amount will cover spending until at least after the 2012 election and allow Obama to avoid another debate during this term. The deal includes spending cuts, a key objective of the Republicans, but no new taxes, another sticking point for conservatives during the debate.  Though a deal has been struck amongst the party leaders, it still needs to pass the House and Senate. It will definitely pass. These folks are all very intelligent (despite how it may seem). The right has successfully made their point. I'm sure they realize that the time for games/gestures is over and passing this thing now is pretty much a necessity.   more ›

U.S. Troops Kill bin Laden, President Says

The terror leader was killed in a town outside of Islamabad, Pakistan, Obama said.

President Obama confirmed just before midnight Sunday that U.S. troops killed al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. The president addressed the nation in a televised speech from the East Wing of the White House. "I can report to the American people and to the world, that the U.S. has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden," Obama said. "Shortly after taking office, I directed … the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority," said the president.
