Letter: Thank You from People Helping People

A letter of thanks to L'Andana for the restaurant's support in a recent fundraiser.

The following is a letter from People Helping People Inc.:  People Helping People thanks L’Andana Restaurant of Burlington for their recent donation.  At Celebrate Burlington in August L’Andana had all money raised at their booth go towards People Helping People in addition to collecting food. Pictured above is Vice President of People Helping People Valerie Healy and L’Andana Event Coordinators Bridget Tivnan-White and Shannon St. Pierre.    We are very grateful for all L’Andana continues to do to support People Helping People.

Purchase a $20 raffle ticket to support the Burlington Food Pantry and earn a chance to win a meal at Capital Grille

Tickets are still available for People Helping People's Second Annual Capital Grille Raffle for a chance to win a $1,000 gift certificate to the Capital Grille in Burlington (certain conditions apply). The prize, which covers dinner for six, including wine, was donated by the Capital Grille at 10 Wayside Road in Burlington.    The proceeds from this event will go towards purchasing Holiday Dinners for families of the Food Pantry in December. Only 500 tickets will be sold. The drawing will be held at Olde Town Liquors on October 6th. 'Fill The Bus' Food Drive at Burlington Truck Day a Big Success

Many participants in Burlington's Truck Day this past Sunday brought food donations for those in need.

Hundreds of people came out to the Burlington Town Commons this past Sunday to take part in Burlington Truck Day, and while there many also made a food or financial donation to help People Helping People and the Burlington Food Pantry. People Helping People teamed up with A & F Bus Company, which had a school bus on the commons where people could drop off non-perishable food items or make a monetary donation to help those in need. Near the end of the day one whole side of the bus was filled with grocery bags and the money jar was filled with donations. According to April Healey of A & F Bus Company, donations came in strong all day. There was also a second bus at the Burlington Shaws which she said was also being filled with donations. The…

Letter: Thank You For Successful Fundraiser

People Helping People, Inc. would like to thank those individuals and businesses that helped make the Aug. 26 fundraising barbecue a big hit.

The Fundraising Committee of People Helping People would like to thank all those who made our Cookout and Concert on the Common that was held on Saturday, Aug. 26 such a success. A special thank you to co-founder of b.good Jon Olinto for donating the burgers, all the fixings and “Harvey”.  Since b.good came to Burlington they have made such a significant contribution to the community.  This was the second cookout that b.good has hosted and they have contributed to the community in so many ways such as bring “Harvey” to the Post Grad Party in the wee hours of the morning and cooking burgers at the high school.  All you have to do is ask and Jon says “yes”.  As a community we are very fortunate to have b.good as our friend! b.good Burgers To Hold Barbecue for People Helping People

The fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 25, on the Burlington Common from 4 to 6 p.m.

The following is a release from People Helping People, Inc. the group behind the Burlington Food Pantry: On Saturday, August 25 a barbecue will be held on the Burlington Common from 4 to 6 p.m. to raise money for Burlington's People Helping People. The menu will include hamburgers, hot dogs, side dishes and beverages. Burgers will be donated by the b.good restaurant at 82 Mall Road in Burlington. This is the second year b.good has held a barbecue for the non-profit group. Click here for last year's photo gallery of the festivities. Last year the event garnered at least $1,825 to help those in need in Burlington. Today's Patch Snap comes from People Helping People, which states:  The Bamboo restaurant in Bedford hosted a benefit for people Helping People this summer.  A percentage of all sales for the evening went to People Helping People.  David Ren, Manager of the Bamboo presented a check for $600 to Vice President of People Helping People Valerie Healy.  People Helping People thanks the Bamboo restaurant and looks forward to working with them on additional fundraisers Do you have a picture that would make a great Patch Snap? Bring Non-Perishables to the Polls for Burlington Food Pantry

Volunteers with People Helping People will be collecting non-perishable food stuffs and basic items during the town election on April 14 at the High School.

The following is a release from People Helping People, Inc.: People Helping People will be holding a drive to support The Burlington Community Food Pantry at the Town Election on Saturday, April 14 at Burlington High School.  Specific needs this year are Toothbrushes, Canned Fruit, Canned Vegetables and Peanut Butter.  Members of People Helping People will be on hand all day to collect these items.  Financial Donations are always welcome as well. The Burlington Community Food Pantry supports an average of 300 people each month.  Over 100,000 pounds of food are distributed annually through the Pantry. Gayle Hobgood, Director of the Burlington Community Food Pantry would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their contributions to the Food Pantry this past holiday season. Due to your generosity the pantry is the fullest it has been in a long time. I apologize if I missed including anyone in this note but the response this year to donations has been simply amazing!  A special thank you to the United Church of Christ Congregational, St. Marks and St. Malachy’s’ for their continued monthly donations. As well as the Rotary Club of Burlington who has donated fresh produce monthly for many years.
