Guests could purchase a lunch from 11:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m. for just $5 with proceeds going to People Helping People. Potbelly raised $701 for PHP. The grand opening of the sandwich shop is today.
The new Potbelly Sandwich Shop is set to open it's doors in the Wayside Plaza, located at 2 Wayside Road, today. The new restaurant is located in the former Fresh City location. Ian Goldstein is the general manager and has been with Potbelly since January of 2005, where he most recently held the position of general manager at the downtown Milwaukee location, a release from the restaurant states. "I am excited to be bringing the unique Potbelly experience to Burlington," he said. "I have met and connected with many of the people in this area and am thrilled to bring a new place for the neighbors to eat and have a fun time. The grand opening is next Tuesday with a charity "soft opening" happening on Monday to benefit People Helping People.
The incoming Potbelly Sandwich Shop in the Wayside plaza is set to open its doors next week. Wayside plaza is located at 6 Wayside Road. The Chicago-based restaurant that serves a variety of hot and cold sandwich options made from fresh cut meats and vegetables will have its grand opening next Tuesday, April 23. There will also be a "soft opening" on Monday with a fundraiser to benefit People Helping People and the Burlington Food Pantry, General Manager Ian Goldstein told Patch. For a $5 donation customers can get a drink and a sandwich. On Saturday, April 27, the restaurant will have an opening event with live music, musicians and food. The following is a letter to the editor from People Helping People Inc. - People Helping People would like to thank Joe Sylva from Flatbread for generously hosting the People Helping People Fundraiser on Tuesday, Jan. 22. A percentage of the Pizza sales went to People Helping People. There was also a bake sale and we thank all the individuals in our wonderful community who took the time to make for the event. I went on Monday for their special event: had a pizza sub. Sandwich size wasn't huge but it was very tasty and people working there were very friendly. Let's hope they can keep it up over the long haul.   more ›
