Retiring DPW Worker Honored, New Hire Welcomed (Images)
Superintendent of Public Works John Sanchez and the Board of Selectmen gave certificates of appreciation to DPW member Rick Haynes.
The Burlington Board of Selectmen spent some time during the meeting last night to approve a new member of the Department of Public Works and to honor a retiring member. At the recommendation of Superintendent of Public Works John Sanchez the board appointed Patrick Duran to a full-time position in the Highway Division. "Pat has shown experience in areas we need it the most," Sanchez told the board. "He has a background in paving and equipment use. I'm looking forward to seeing his experience put to work in the department." The board approved the appointment unanimously and agreed to waive the normal 15-day waiting period for new employees.
