Northeastern University Bringing Homeland Security Research Center to Burlington
Northeastern University is in the process of constructing a Homeland Security research center in Burlington. The new facility is detailed with Burlington and Northeastern officials working close to the project.
Northeastern University is currently constructing a 70,000 square foot Homeland Security research center on South Bedford Street. Last June, Northeastern University went before the Planning Board to discuss the building's construction. The board voted 6-0 in favor of the project. The center will be known as the George J. Kostas Research Institute for Homeland Security, named after the Northeastern Alum who donated $12 million to fund the building.
