$1 Million Lottery Winner Convicted of Stealing from Burlington and Area Residents

The owner of a Chelmsford oil service company pleaded guilty to charges of taking deposits from elderly customers for work that was never completed.

The owner of a Chelmsford oil service company pleaded guilty for taking deposits from clients for work and repairs which were never performed, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone announced this week. According to Leone's office, Michael Santaniello, 60, of Chelmsford, pleaded guilty in Lowell District Court to charges of larceny over $250 from a person over 60 years of age (4 counts), larceny over $250 (6 counts), larceny by check over $250, larceny over $250 by false pretenses, and failure to return leased personalty. The victims in this case are residents of Burlington, Chelmsford, Billerica, Lexington, Wilmington, Somerville, Bedford and Westford. Lowell District Court Judge Lynn Rooney sentenced the defendant to 2 ½ years in the …

Middlesex County DA Announces He Won't Seek Third Term

Leone said he has no specific plans after he leaves office.

Middlesex County District Attorney Gerry Leone has announced he will not seek a third term in 2014, according to his office. Leone made the announcement during an awards ceremony with his staff on Jan. 10 “These decisions are, and should be, predicated upon what is best for the person and their family. What is best for me and my family is that I not seek another term. As someone who is much smarter than I am once said, ‘I must be willing to give up what I am, in order to become what I will be.’ Other than a husband and father, I am not yet sure what that will be when I am no longer a District Attorney,” Leone said in a statement. DA: Burlington Stabbing Victim's Children Safe

The Middlesex District Attorney's office confirmed that the children of the murder suspect and victim are safe.

The Middlesex District Attorney's office confirmed to Patch this afternoon that both of Kristen Pulisciano's children are safe. This morning Fox 25 News in Boston reported that neighbors reported seeing the couple's two children run out of the home at the time when Pulisciano was being murdered. According to the report, the children were yelling that their mother had been stabbed. There is currently a manhunt under way for the father, Christopher Piantedosi, the lead suspect in last night's Forbes Avenue homicide. The DA's office would not say where the children are but said they were both safe. The DA also wouldn't verify the ages of the children, but from pictures and social media, it appears as if the son is of adult age and the …

Authorities Searching for Suspect in Burlington Homicide

The following is a release from Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone's office concerning last night's homicide on Forbes Avenue: Authorities have issued a BOLO (“Be on the look out”) for a man wanted in connection with last evening’s homicide in Burlington, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone and Burlington Police Chief Michael Kent informed the public today. Billerica Man Charged in Connection to November Dunkin Donuts Robbery

DA: Derek Colamartino, of North Billerica, charged with armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon.

A North Billerica man is charged in connection with an armed robbery in Burlington late last year, according to a release issued last Thursday by Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone. Derek Colamartino, 21, of North Billerica, was charged Thursday with three counts of armed robbery, three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, receiving a stolen motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. According to Billerica Police Department officials, who arrested Colamartino on Nov. 18, 2011, Colamartino is being charged in connection to multiple crimes, including the Nov. 15 armed robbery of the Burlington Dunkin Donuts on the corner Middlesex Turnpike and Wheeler Road. Burlington Man Indicted in Connection to Fatal Pedestrian Accident Last August

Middlesex County DA Gerry Leone stated today that Anthony Manfredi, of Burlington, was indicted on charges of felony motor vehicle homicide and operating under the influence of liquor, second offense.

A Burlington man has been indicted on charges in connection with the Aug. 14, 2011 fatal pedestrian collision that resulted in the death of Burlington resident Daniel Jalbert, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone informed the public today. According to a release from the DA's office, Anthony Manfredi, 49, of Burlington, was indicted by a Middlesex County grand jury on charges of felony motor vehicle homicide and operating under the influence of liquor, second offense. Manfredi will be arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 9 am. "Craigslist Rapist" Sentenced to Nine to Twelve Years

Reinaldo Prado, who was found guilty last month of armed robbery and rape of victims he met on Craigslist in Burlington and Tewksbury hotels, was sentenced yesterday.

A Framingham man has been sentenced after being found guilty of aggravated rape against one female victim and armed robbery charges and intimidation of a witness against three female victims he solicited from Craig’s List, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone informed the public in a press release yesterday. According to Leone, Reinaldo Prado, 30, of Framingham, was found guilty by a Middlesex Superior Court jury on September 26 on charges of aggravated rape, armed robbery (three counts), and intimidation of a witness (three counts).  He was found not guilty of 2 of the 3 counts of aggravated rape and 3 counts of indecent assault and battery.  Middlesex Superior Court Judge Kathe Tuttman sentenced the defendant to nine to twelve years …

A Burlington woman is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow to face charges in connection with the May 14 motor vehicle crash that resulted in the death of Bedford resident Glenn Robichaud, 55. A Somerville man arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine while working for the Middlesex County Sheriff's Department was arraigned in Woburn District Court this morning. The Middlesex District Attorney's office reported that the defendant, Michael Dell’Isola, 51, was ordered held on $1,000 cash bail with the condition that he stays away from the Sheriff’s Department by Judge Paul Yee. His next court date is June 8 for a probable cause hearing. Middlesex DA Proposes New Anti-Domestic Violence Laws

New laws would help protect domestic violence victims.

Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone has proposed a series of laws aimed at addressing domestic violence and increasing the penalties against repeat batterers, according to a press release from his office.
