Book Corner: Library Holiday Hours, May Basket Raffle

The Burlington Public Library has a wide variety of upcoming programs and events.

The Burlington Public Library has a bunch of upcoming events and accounts of past events residents can check out. The following is a press release listing what has happened, is currently happening and what is coming soon. Library Hours The Library will be closed from Saturday May, 25 through Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day. The Library will also be closed on Friday, June 14 for staff in-service.   May Basket Raffle There’s still time to buy tickets and enter to win your favorite basket(s).  With 55 baskets to choose from, there certainly is something for everyone! Ticket sales end on Thursday, May 30 at 6pm.  The drawing for the baskets will take place Thursday, May 30 at 7pm.  Come join us for a fun evening.  You may even be …

The Book Corner: Library Spring Book Sale Starts Friday

The following is a press release listing what has happened, is currently happening and what is coming soon.   Baby Storytime Please note that due to the meeting rooms being used to house the book sale, there will be no Baby Storytime held on Friday, April 26. “Blooming Book Sale” The “Friends of the Library” spring book sale is being held Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 28.  The hours of the sale are Friday-- 10:15 to 5:30 p.m.; Saturday-- 10:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday-- 1:15 to 3:30 p.m. On Friday afternoon, the Lowell Spinners Canaligator will be here from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.! Two new passes have been added to the wide array offered at the Library.  “Boston By Foot” and “The Institute of Contemporary Art” are the latest additions purchased by Friends of the Burlington Public Library. Boston By Foot is available from May through October and allows 4 people free admission to the guided walking tour of Boston where you’ll experience Boston's rich architectural and historical heritage. The Institute of Contemporary Art pass allows 2 people a discounted admission. Children …

Burlington Reads Our month-long “Burlington Reads 2013” is happening now!  Join us for all of the programs planned around the themes depicted in the 2013 book, “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet” by Jamie Ford. Learn about life for Asian-Americans in Seattle during World War II.  Family, Chinese and Japanese culture, and life in internment camps are among the topics of this moving story.
