Book Corner: Spring Booksale, Children and Teen Events and a Stormwater Presentation

The Burlington Public Library has a wide variety of upcoming programs and events.

Burlington Reads Our month-long “Burlington Reads 2013” is happening now!  Join us for all of the programs planned around the themes depicted in the 2013 book, “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet” by Jamie Ford. Learn about life for Asian-Americans in Seattle during World War II.  Family, Chinese and Japanese culture, and life in internment camps are among the topics of this moving story. An array of wonderfully creative May Baskets donated by local organizations and individuals went on display at the Library on May 1, and tickets are now on sale at a cost of 5 for $5.    Winning tickets will be drawn on Thursday evening, May 31, beginning at 7 p.m.  This year’s baskets offer delights of all sorts, ranging from Red Sox paraphernalia, fine chocolates and knitting supplies to lottery tickets and champagne.  Stop by to see and admire!
