High-End Steak House to be Part of Northwest Park

The Nordblom Company announced that the Webber Restaurant Group will have a high-end steak house, The Bancroft, as part of the Northwest Park development.

One of the restaurants coming into the 3rd Avenue Northwest Park has been announced. According to a release from the Nordblom Company, which owns the property, said the company has signed a 8,500 square foot lease with the Webber Restaurant Group. The Webber Restaurant Group owns the Gibbet Hill Grill in Groton, the Scarlet Oak Tavern in Hingham, and Fireside Catering in Burlington. The Burlington Planning Board approved the project on April 4. "It is a pioneer in the farm-to-restaurant movement, being one of the only restaurant groups in the country that includes a farm – the 100-acre Gibbet Hill Farm in Groton – as a part of its organization," the release states. Wegmans, Kings Sites Progressing and Project Now on Social Media

The 3rd Avenue Northwest Park now has Facebook and Twitter accounts and through them we've learned the general opening dates for Wegmans and Kings.

Work on the sites for Wegmans and the Kings bowling alley are progressing as construction has re-started this spring. As reported on Patch, Wegman's grocery store will be going in at 53 Third Ave. and the Kings bowling alley will be at 52 Second Ave. Since the last update on the sites, the Wegmans parcel looks a bit further along. Rocks and other obstacles have been removed and a lot of earth has been moved about. The Kings site across the street is still mostly a parking lot but there is machinery making progress. (Check out our pictures of the two sites above). The Northwest Park project also has entered the realm of social media. TELL US: What Would You Like to See in NorthWest Park?

There will be a variety of restaurants and retail stores in the project with Wegman's and Kings. What would your choice be to fill one of those slots?

As reported on Burlington Patch this morning, NorthWest park will feature a Wegman's grocery store, a Kings bowling alley and an apartment building, but there will be a lot of free space for restaurants and retail locations. According to Nordblom's site, the development will be a 3,200,000 square foot "pedestrian-friendly, amenity-rich, vibrant mixed-use environment," in the area of 2nd, 3rd and 4th Avenues. Also, according to the project web site, there will be a mix of restaurants, some featuring outdoor dining, and retail locations. However, the specifics of what those restaurants and retail locations will be is still a mystery. Burlington Senior Planner Don Benjamin said the applications by those businesses for Planning Board review …

Burlington's NorthWest Park - Wegman's and Kings Are Going In but What Else?

What we know thus far is going into NorthWest Park.

The site for Burlington NorthWest Park project is coming along and Nordblom Senior Vice President of Development Todd Fremont-Smith has stated the next phase of the construction will begin this spring. Thus far we know that the much-anticipated Wegman's grocery store will be going in at 53 Third Ave. and the Kings bowling alley will be at 52 Second Ave. What else will go in to the development?
