There were many expressions of pride for the above-and-beyond trip members of the Burlington Police Department organized to deliver cards to a Virginia boy with cancer during Monday night's Board of Selectmen meeting. Members of the board, State Sen. Kenneth Donnelly and State Rep. Ken Gordon all expressed their pride and gratitude for the members of the Burlington Police Department that traveled to Virginia to deliver cards to Nathan Norman, a six-year-old boy with cancer whose Christmas wish was to receive cards from police. Burlington residents, like all of Massachusetts, went to the polls to vote for their chosen party's representative yesterday in the state primary. A total of 1,908 Burlington voters went to the polls. That represents 13.3 percent of the total eligible voters. In Burlington 60.6 percent (1,158) of the voters cast votes in the Democratic races, 39.35 percent (752) cast votes for Republicans and 0.05 percent cast votes for the Green-Rainbow party. In the national senate election Burlington voters cast 843 votes for Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren and 710 for incumbent Scott Brown.
