Annie Dookhan, the chemist who stands accused of mishandling evidence in thousands of state drug cases, has been indicted on new charges. Dookhan was indicted by statewide grand jury on 27 charges today including 17 counts of obstruction of justice, eight counts of tampering with evidence, perjury and falsely pretending to hold a degree from a college or university, according to a press statement from Attorney General Martha Coakley's office. “We allege that Annie Dookhan tampered with drug evidence and fabricated test results on multiple occasions,” Coakley said in the statement. “Her alleged actions have sent ripple effects throughout the criminal justice system. Christopher Piantedosi, 39, was indicted yesterday by a grand jury in the Middlesex District Court on charges of murder and malicious damage of property over $250.
The main suspect in the first degree fatal stabbing of his former longtime girlfriend in her Burlington home was indicted yesterday, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone informed the public. Christopher Piantedosi, 39, of Methuen, was indicted yesterday by a Middlesex Grand Jury on charges of murder in the first degree and malicious destruction of property over $250. He will be arraigned June 12 at 9 a.m. in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn. Matthew Pappas, 18, of Woburn, pleaded guilty to charges related to a Sept. 2010 string of armed robberies.
A Woburn man pleaded guilty to robbery charges in connection with six separate robberies and attempted robberies within a span of two days in Woburn and Burlington, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone informed the public today. According to a release from the District Attorney, Matthew Pappas, 18, of Woburn, pleaded guilty to charges of armed robbery (3 counts), armed assault with the intent to rob (2 counts), masked armed robbery, and assault with a dangerous weapon (6 counts).
