How Did Burlington Vote in the Election?

A look at how Burlington voted race-by-race yesterday.

Burlington residents came out in force to vote in yesterday's election. According to Town Clerk Amy Warfield a total of 13,409, or 85 percent, of the total 15,149 eligible voters.  The town did not go with any party. President Barack Obama took the majority of Burlington votes but the ticket was split for the senate race and Scott Brown beat out Elizabeth Warren in town. Warren did end up carrying the state. In the 21st Middlesex District State Representative race, Burlington did give the majority to home-town candidate Walter Zenkin over Bedford's Ken Gordon, but not by a big majority. Zenkin was ultimately defeated by Gordon when Bedford weighed in on the race. Burlington voters also supported Fourth Middlesex District State Sen. Ken …

State Sen. Donnelly Wins Re-Election

With a majority of town reporting the race is being called for Kenneth Donnelly.

State Sen. Ken Donnelly, D-Arlington, has been re-elected by district voters to continue to represent the Fourth Middlesex District based on the towns that have reported thus far.  The district includes the towns of Arlington, Woburn, Lexington, Burlington and Billerica. At this time Woburn, Burlington and Arlington have reported the results of the state senator's re-election bid against Republican challenger Gerry Dembrowski. In Woburn Donnelly took 10,065 votes versus Dembrowski's 6,989. In Burlington he won 7,310 to 4,769. In Lexington, Donnelly tallied 8,239 votes to Dembrowski's 2,664. And in his hometown of Arlington he took a whopping 19,292 to 4,283. Billerica had not reported results at the time of this report. Donnelly was first …

How Did Burlington Vote in the Massachusetts Primary?

A look at how Burlington voters decided to cast their votes yesterday.

Burlington residents, like all of Massachusetts, went to the polls to vote for their chosen party's representative yesterday in the state primary. A total of 1,908 Burlington voters went to the polls. That represents 13.3 percent of the total eligible voters. In Burlington 60.6 percent (1,158) of the voters cast votes in the Democratic races, 39.35 percent (752) cast votes for Republicans and 0.05 percent cast votes for the Green-Rainbow party. In the national senate election Burlington voters cast 843 votes for Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren and 710 for incumbent Scott Brown. In the congressional race voters went with incumbent John Tierney with 812 votes versus 622 for Republican Richard Tisei. In the Massachusetts State Senate …
