Members of the Burlington Police Department, State Sen. Kenneth Donnelly and State Rep. Ken Gordon honored members of the Burlington Police Department who traveled to Virginia to deliver cards to a boy with cancer.
There were many expressions of pride for the above-and-beyond trip members of the Burlington Police Department organized to deliver cards to a Virginia boy with cancer during Monday night's Board of Selectmen meeting. Members of the board, State Sen. Kenneth Donnelly and State Rep. Ken Gordon all expressed their pride and gratitude for the members of the Burlington Police Department that traveled to Virginia to deliver cards to Nathan Norman, a six-year-old boy with cancer whose Christmas wish was to receive cards from police. Sgt. Gerard McDonough, with the help of other officers, decided to go above and beyond and hand delivered the cards to Nathan. A video of the police caravan of roughly 40 cruisers heading down to Virginia to bring cards to a boy with cancer yesterday.
This morning hundreds of police officers, including many from the Burlington Police Department, met Nathan Norman, a six-year-old with brain cancer. Like most little boys, Nathan loves to watch cops, firemen and EMT's speed to calls in shiny cars and trucks —sirens blaring and lights flashing —making no stops as they race to save people. This Christmas, Nathan called upon these heroes to make his wish come true by sending him cards, letters and patches —anything with a first responder insignia. Police from around New England decided to do more than just send cards. They traveled in a caravan down to Nathan's hometown of Rustburg, Virginia to meet the little guy in person and make his Christmas wish come true in a big way. Check out this …

As members of the Burlington Police and other New England police departments make their way to Virginia some people are wondering what is up. There have been tweets by people wondering why roughly 40 police cruisers have been traveling down the highway.
