Last Saturday's Cancer Walk and 5k Walk was a huge success despite the rain.
The participants of the 2012 Burlington Relay for Life weren't the only ones to brave the rain to help fight cancer last weekend. On Saturday, June 2, Lahey Clinic held its annual Cancer Walk in Burlington and Peabody. The event also featured a 5K run at the Burlington clinic. Despite cold weather, strong winds and lots of rain, there was a great turnout and spirits were high. Over 1,100 people registered for the Walk helping raise over $200,000.00 this year. "Lahey Clinic is extremely grateful to everyone who helped make this year a success!," a release states. Donations for the Lahey Clinic Cancer Walk & 5K Run will be accepted until June 30. If you would like to donate, or for more information about the Walk, visit: Walk.Lahey.org.
