Early Sunday morning, a representative of NSTAR reported had fielded hundreds of calls reporting power outages during and after the weekend snowstorm and that same day stated that over 8,000 Burlington customers were without power.  As of yesterday, that number had dropped to 2,500 in the morning and down to 2,100 as of yesterday afternoon. This morning, NSTAR reported that there were roughly 1,200 customers without power. Though the utility company still projects tomorrow evening as the time when all power will be restored, progress has been made in the past couple of days to get the juice back on. Stay Warm Without Power, Safety Tips

Information from the Town of Burlington and the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency.

With roughly 2,100 Burlington customers without power and with the temperature dropping it is worth repeating the options out there for those in need of assistance. The Town of Burlington has opened the Human Services Building, 61 Center Street, as an emergency warming station for residents who remain without power due to the weekend storm. The town can provide basic shelter including cots and blankets but not food.  Other locations around town are now opened, including many restaurants and businesses. Wide-Spread Power Outages Reported in Burlington Following October Storm

NSTAR is reporting that over 8,000 Burlington customers are without power.

Last night's October snow storm has caused wide-spread power outages throughout the area, including in Burlington, where NSTAR reports that over 8,000 customers are in the dark. The utility company has estimated that full power might not be restored for all its customers until later this week.   On its web site, NSTAR said the "heavy wet snow and high winds continue to take down wires and tree limbs, which is particularly challenging this time of year when the branches are still full of leaves."  Captain Kevin Browne of the Burlington Fire Department said he estimated that nearly 75 percent of town is without power this morning. He said there are many downed trees on wires and last night there were transformer fires reported in town. …
