Burlington Police Responded to Boston Following Marathon Bombing

Seven members of the Burlington Police Department were in Boston and then in Watertown as part of the North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council.

After two bombs went off at the Boston Marathon, police officers from communities all over the Boston area joined Boston Police, State Police and the FBI to help with security and the subsequent investigation. Burlington was no exception. Police Chief Michael Kent told Patch in an interview that seven members of the Burlington Police Department spent the week following the bombing and the killing of one suspect and the capture of the second working in Boston. "Boston Police put the call out very shortly after the bombing," Kent said. Police Searching for Suspect Who Pulled Knife on Macy's Security

Do you recognize the man in the photo above? Burlington Police are looking for him in connection to a reported knife incident at Macy's.

Burlington Police are searching for the man pictured in the surveillance image above in connection to a shoplifting turned armed robbery at Macy's this evening. Officer Mark Driscoll told Burlington Patch that at about 5:28 p.m. police received notice from Macy's that an alleged shoplifter pulled a knife on loss prevention officers as they tried to detain him. The suspect is pictured above. He is a white male with short hair wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and what appears to be blue jeans. He was also carrying a black jacket. Driscoll said the suspect allegedly tried to shoplift a shirt and four pairs of boxers. When Macy's loss prevention attempted to apprehend him he pulled a knife and ran out of the story. Police Searching for This Man for Reported Theft

Do you recognize the man, or his unique backpack, in this surveillance picture?

The Burlington Police Department is looking for this man in connection to a theft of high-end scarves. According to a post on MassMostWanted.org, the man pictured above is a suspect in a April 16 theft at Burberry. The man allegedly stole two scarves, valued at $350 each, from Burberry in the Burlington Mall.  The picture of his face is not very clear but the suspect's backpack is unique and could help with identification. Police Searching for This Woman for a Reported Theft

Do you recognize the woman in this surveillance picture?

The Burlington Police Department is looking for this woman in connection to a theft of headphones. According to MassMostWanted.org, the female pictured above entered Best Buy and allegedly stole a pair of high-end Beat earphones and exited the store on Feb. 26. According to a store manager this woman was involved in two other incidents of stealing merchandise. Report of Rollover Accident on 3A Northbound Ramp

The Burlington Police Department reported an accident on its Twitter account.

Traffic could be backing up on Route 3A North as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Burlington Police Department tweeted at 4:10 p.m. today that there are reports of a rollver on the Route 3A northbound ramp to 128 South. Emergency personnel are on scene. It is unknown at this time if there are any injuries.

Police to Conduct Alcohol Compliance Checks

The Burlington Police Department are working to ensure businesses don't sell to minors.

The Burlington Police will be checking up on businesses that sell alcohol to ensure underage customers are not being served. According to a release, the Burlington Police Department will continue to conduct alcohol compliance checks at all local, licensed establishments. These compliance checks will be conducted throughout the calendar year. "The purpose of these compliance operations is to educate the licensees about the importance of complying with local and state laws and to remain vigilant in ensuring that no alcoholic beverages are sold to underage persons," the release states.  Any questions pertaining to this information may be directed to Detective Sergeant Thomas Browne at (781) 272-1212 ext. 4910.

Burlington Police Seize Marijuana Mailed to Burlington Business

Police recovered approximately 12 pounds of marijuana that had been mailed from California.

Burlington Police got a substantial shipment of drugs off the streets this week and arrested two suspects for conspiracy to violate drug laws.  According to a release posted onto the Burlington Police Department's Facebook page, the Burlington Police Department Drug Unit Seized approximately 12 pounds of marijuana on Thursday February 28. The marijuana had been mailed from California to Tanorama at 264 Cambridge Street. Police executed a search warrant when two packages of marijuana were delivered to the business. The street value of the marijuana is estimated to be over $60,000. UPDATED: Police: Major Power Lines Down in Front of High School

Burlington Police are reporting major power lines down in front of the high school and are asking people to seek alternate routes.

Update 3:10 p.m. Burlington Patch just checked out the scene. The traffic on Cambridge Street at Burlington High School is backed-up but is moving. The traffic coming from the Mall Road direction was more backed up than traffic coming from Central Street. Also, as of 2:30 p.m. the traffic lights at Bedford Street and Cambridge Street were off, causing traffic delays as motorists attempted to navigate the intersection. Update at 2:04 p.m. Police are reporting that NSTAR is on scene now to clear the downed lines. NSTAR is estimating 2 to 3 hours and have hired two detail officers, police stated. The Traffic Supervisor will be at the intersection to conduct traffic. The Police Department is also placing two additional officers to assist with …

Police Searching for Man in Connection to Stolen Credit Card Case

The Burlington Police Department is looking for the man pictured above in connection to a case involving stolen credit cards. According to MassMostWanted.org, Burlington Police are looking to identify the man in these surveillance pictures. Police believe he has information on a Dec. 24, 2012 stolen credit card incident. He is described as a light-skinned male who is tall and has a medium build. In this picture he is sporting facial hair and short-cropped hair.
