Technology Company Reportedly Reaches $80 Million Deal

According to a report in the Boston Globe, Nuance Communication Inc. agreed to acquire Tweddle Connect.

One Burlington company's business portfolio grew significantly on Thursday. According to a report in the Boston Globe, Nuance Communications Inc. announced on Thursday that it agreed to aquire a business called Tweddle Connect for about $80 million. Nuance, located at 8 New England Executive Park, is "a leading purveyor of speech technologies for personal, business and healthcare use ... and delivers innovative communications solutions for industries including, but not limited to, government, education, hospitality and more," according to its Patch business profile.  The Globe reported that the deal will close in the third quarter of this year, and will help broaden Nuance's presence in the market of vehicles including voice recognition …

Medical Company Opens New Office in Burlington

According to the Lowell Sun, Baylis Medical recently opened its newest offices on Mall Road.

A new Burlington business opened its doors on Tuesday, bringing a new company to Mall Road. According to a Lowell Sun report, Baylis Medical held a grand opening ceremony on Tuesday afternoon in their new office location. The facility is located at 50 Mall Road, Suite G18. Baylis Medical's website says that the company has "been involved in a number of medical firsts, both in the Canadian market as well as the worldwide market" over the last 25 years. The company creates medical equipment, much having to do with cardiology and radiology. By opening a Burlington office, Baylis now has five locations. The company's headquarters is in Montreal with other offices in Vancouver, London and Mississauga, Ontario. Among those at Tuesday's opening …
