Burlington trained Olympic Gold Medalist Aly Raisman is back on ABC's dancing contest tonight.
It's no joke for Aly Raisman, the Raisman run on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" continues tonight. In case you missed last week, each of the three judges rated Raisman and Ballas' quickstep last week 8 out of 10, giving the duo 24 total points. Combined with the first week's score, she has 45 out of a possible 60 points. Raisman trained for the Olympics Gymnastics Team at the Brestyan’s American Gymnastics Club in Burlington. She won two gold medals and a bronze medal for the U.S. Women’s Olympics at the 2012 London Games. No one was voted off last week--instead athlete Dorothy Hamill announced her decision to leave the competition because of a back injury. Aly Raisman is back on "Dancing With the Stars tonight," and seems to be doing well so far. She scored 21 points her first week, with 7 points from each of the three judges. This puts her in a three-way tie for second, along with Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough, and Dorothy Hamill and Tristan MacManus. These teams are behind that of Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy who scored 24. The parking lot of Brestyan’s American Gymnastics Club was packed full of cheering fans of Olympian Aly Raisman for a welcome home rally in her honor yesterday. Raisman won two gold medals and a bronze medal for U.S. Women’s Olympics in gymnastics at the 2012 London Games. Raisman, 18, of Needham, returned to the United States on Monday and was at her home gym in Burlington yesterday. Well before she arrived at roughly 11:30 a.m., crowds of fans were already lining up to welcome her home and for a chance to get an autograph and picture with the gold-medal winner. Olympic gold and bronze medalist, Aly Raisman, of Needham, answered a few questions to a packed crowd of reporters today and signed autographs for a line of fans that snaked all the way around Brestyan's Gym in Burlington. In very bad taste that Aly Raisman is busy texting on DWTS celebraquarium. What can be that important that it can't wait until a commercial break? I guess the producers have no problem with the fact that she is not interested in what is going on in the show. I know my votes are going to a more serious contestant!   more ›
