Burlington: A Week in Review

A look back on Burlington stories covered this week by Burlington Patch.

This was a busy week in Burlington and so a busy week here at Patch. In case you missed any of our stories, here are some of the highlights and links to our articles to help you catch up. We started the week with coverage of the Burlington Relay for Life which, despite some rain, had a record year for raising funds for cancer research. Boston Cannons Finds New Dancer in Burlington's Deanna Desharnais

Burlington resident Deanna Desharnais persevered through injury to become a Boston Cannons Dancer.

Burlington is filled with talented youth; actors, singers, sports kids, artists, and dancers. Some kids choose to split their time between multiple activities while others concentrate on just one.  College sophomore Deanna Desharnais, who has been dancing since the age of three, chose the latter.  During her years at Ellen's School of Dance in Billerica she and her teammates often took home gold or platinum awards. "Dance has always been like a stress reliever. I like the feeling of going into a studio and stretching, conditioning and performing," said Desharnais. During her sophomore year in high school, Desharnais sustained a back injury that kept her from dancing for a year a half.  "I was so used to thinking of myself as a dancer that …
