Have a Blog? Patch Can Help Spread the Word

Did you know that blogging on Patch can help draw attention to the blog you already write elsewhere?

Burlington Patch is always on the lookout for new bloggers. But sometimes, that just means the blogger is new to Patch, not necessarily new to blogging. One of the hardest things about blogging is reaching an audience. It isn't easy to raise the visibility of your blog above that of the myriad of other blogs out there. But if you don't manage to do that, the time and energy you put into your blog might go unnoticed by the very readers you're trying to reach. That's where Burlington Patch can help. Patch wants to provide an additional platform for the blog you're already spending time to write. Here's how it works: It really is that simple. You can reach a wider audience, the entire Burlington Patch audience, with your blog and you don't …

Want Your Voice to Be Heard?

The community is waiting, just sign-up to be a blogger on Burlington Patch!

Burlington Patch is looking for a few good bloggers but before I explain, I want to be clear on what a “blog” is. A blog is simply an online journal where someone shares his or her expertise, opinion or experience. I like to call it community contribution, but you can it anything you like. We are looking for Burlington residents or those with ties to the area to contribute regularly to our community website. When I first launched Burlington Patch on December 10, 2010, I envisioned the website to be a virtual Town Green where the community could come together to chat, share ideas, keep up to on local news and happenings, but most importantly connect with our town and each other; blogging is one more way to do this. So here’s what you need …

Blog on Burlington Patch

Got something to say? Patch is adding a platform for local bloggers on May 4.

Beginning May 4, Burlington Patch will be making room for local bloggers on the site. We're looking for bloggers who can riff on various topics, share their personality and engage our readers in discussions. Patch is more than a news site, it's an online conversation about your community. Then we want to hear from you. This isn't a reporting job. It's blogging. You write what you want to say, when you want to say it. Do it on your schedule, whether that's posting multiple entries per day, once a week or a couple times a month. Patch won't own what you post, so you can repost your entries to your other blogs. Much like The Huffington Post has done, Patch is providing local bloggers an online platform to have their words seen by a larger …
