Ripken Major League Tryouts Today

Tryouts are at 5 p.m. in the Lower Simonds Baseball Field.

Do you know an 11-year-old who would like to play some ball next season? Burlington's Cal Ripken 12-Year-Old Major League team is holding tryouts for next season this afternoon. The tryouts will begin at 5 p.m. and will be held on the Lower Simonds Baseball Field. The rain date is Sept. 26 at 2 p.m. Players are asked to show up 30 minutes before the tryouts for sign-ups. Burlington 12-Year-Olds Victorious Over Kokomo [Photo Call Out]

The Burlington 12-Year-Old All Stars beat out the Kokomo, Indiana team last night with a score of 3-2.

The following is a release from the Burlington Baseball and Softball Association: The Burlington 12 Year Old All Stars started play tonight in the World Series and won a thrilling 3-2 game over Kokomo, Indiana.  Their next game is at 5PM tomorrow vs El Dorado, Arkansas at Nutile Field in Winchester (behind Mahoney's).  The Burlington crowd was great tonight and we expect an even bigger crowd tomorrow. Burlington 12-Year-Old Cal Ripken Team Heading to Winchester World Series Tonight

The boys will be playing at 5 p.m. against the Kokomo, IN team at Nutile Field in Winchester.

As reported on Winchester Patch, the fun has begun for the 10 teams competing in the Cal Ripken 12-Year-Old World Series in Winchester. All day long Tuesday, teams from across the country arrived at the Burlington Marriott, where they will stay for the duration of the tournament. They have come from far - California, North Dakota, Idaho, Arkansas, Indiana, Virginia, New York - and from near - Raynham, Burlington and Winchester. The next round of the games begin today. For the Burlington 12-year-old boys, the first game begins at 5 p.m. against the Ohio Valley regional champs, the team from Kokomo, IN. The following is a release from the Burlington Baseball and Softball Association: Hello all, Registration is now open for Summer in-town baseball and softball.  This year we are gauging interest in a Burlington in-town summer softball league.
