Burlington Cable Access Television is welcoming a very special guest tonight. BCAT is inviting all of Burlington's good boys and girls to come and meet Santa Clause and his lovely wife, Mrs. Clause, in the studio from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. this evening. BCAT is located in the rear of Burlington High School. During the event children will have the chance to meet Jolly Ol’ St. Nick in person on live cable. "Kids bring your Christmas list and parents bring your cameras!" a release on BCAT's website exclaims. The event is free. Also, according to BCAT, Parents should be sure to set their recorders at home, as the children will meet Santa live on television, as well as bring their cameras. Burlington's Cable Access Television "BCAT" has a new online look. Last week BCAT updated their web site with a new look, complete with easier navigation, new features and some fun new things that will help them keep the Burlington public informed. According to BCAT Executive Director Jen Dodge, the new site was needed to keep up with changes in technology and will make it easier for fans to sue. "I think it was overdue," she said. "Our site was originally not professionally designed. It was developed by staff without specific web design skills. Burlington Cable Access Channel is looking for middle school students interested in learning about video production.
Do you know, or are you, a student who would like to get some hands-on experience in video production? Burlington Cable Access Television (BCAT) is excited to once again hold BCAT After School program “Video Voyagers” for Middle School students. This program is free of charge. Video Voyagers is for students in 6th through the 8th grade. Video Voyagers meets every Wednesday from 3pm to 5pm at the BCAT studio starting September 12. Video Voyagers is a program where participants learn about BCAT facilities and the basics of video production. Video Voyagers is coordinated by BCAT Production Coordinators Cory McNeil and Tad Stephanak. Participants are taught proper use of equipment, field and in-studio production.
