Highway Pursuit Leads to OUI Arrest

A Belmont man is facing OUI and drug charges following his March 25 arrest in Lexington after he was spotted operating erratically in Burlington.

State Police arrested a Belmont man for operating under the influence of drugs last night following a short pursuit on Route 128 in Lexington. The incident began around 8:25 p.m. on Monday, March 25, when troopers assigned to the Concord Barracks received several reports of a red BMW operating erratically on Rte. 128/95 in Burlington, according to a Massachusetts State Police press release. Several troopers responded to the area to search for the vehicle, which was reportedly continuously striking the guardrail as it traveled northbound. The vehicle exited the highway and looped back onto Rte. 128/95 south, where Trooper Zachary Bolcome located it in Lexington, according to MSP. Police Arrest Three for Numerous Thefts in Burlington

Police arrested three Lawrence residents on charges of larceny over $250.

Burlington Police have arrested three people and charged them with stealing from stores at the Burlington Mall. According to a release from the Burlington Police Department, on Thursday, Jan. 31, police arrested three people they say stole from stores at the mall. The people are believed to have stolen several thousand dollars worth of items over the past month, the release says. Detectives working surveillance at the mall encountered the trio in the parking lot as they attempted to flee. Police recovered several bags of stolen items from their car, the release says. David Baker, Yesenna Torres and Vilma Torres, all of Lawrence, were arrested and charged with several counts of larceny over $250.

Burlington Police Arrest Five Women in Shoplifting Crackdown

Burlington Police made five arrests Thursday at the Burlington Mall.

The Burlington Police arrested five females for shoplifting in two separate incidents on Thursday at the Burlington Mall, the department said in a release today. The arrests were the result of a coordinated effort with security personnel and Burlington detectives in an effort to curb organized retail theft at the Mall. According to police, the first incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. at Bath and Body Works. Detectives Al Gagne and Matt Leary arrested three females for Shoplifting by Asportation. They were identified as: Mellisa Lopes of Mattapan, Kristine Duarte of Boston, and Vanessa Rodriques of Quincy. A search of their vehicle resulted in the recovery of hundreds of dollars worth of stolen merchandise from area stores. …

Man Arrested After Being Spotted Fleeing from Ransacked Home

Burlington Police arrested a suspect in a breaking and entering of a Jonathan Road home.

Police arrested a man seen fleeing the area of a ransacked home this week thanks to the keen eye of an off-duty officer. According to a release from the Burlington Police Department, on Monday May 16, at approximately 1 PM an off duty Burlington police officer observed a suspicious male on Jonathan Road. Patrol officers and detectives responded to the area. There have been recent housebreaks adjacent to that location. Detectives located an unoccupied home on Jonathan Road with a rear door ajar, the release states. It appeared that the home had been ransacked. Detectives and patrol officers then saw a male running from that area, up Woodhill Road, carrying a black backpack. A foot pursuit led officers to a residence on Sheldon St.  Daniel …

Burlington Police Help Arrest Suspsect in 2010 New York Shooting

Burlington Police, the New York City Police Department and the U.S. Marshall Services arrested Antonio Cummins, a suspect in a New York shooting, in Burlington yesterday.

Burlington Police, working with the New York City Police Department and the U.S. Marshall Services, assisted in the arrest of a suspect wanted in connection with a 2010 shooting in New York City. According to a release sent from the Burlington Police Department, On April 6, Detective Gary Redfern of the Burlington Police Department, along with detectives from the New York City Police Department and the U.S. Marshall Service were in Burlington searching for 29 year old, Antonio Cummins, who was wanted for a shooting in New York City.   Detectives were able to determine that the suspect was staying at an undisclosed apartment complex in Burlington, the release states.
