Burlington Police are searching for the man pictured in the surveillance image above in connection to a shoplifting turned armed robbery at Macy's this evening. Officer Mark Driscoll told Burlington Patch that at about 5:28 p.m. police received notice from Macy's that an alleged shoplifter pulled a knife on loss prevention officers as they tried to detain him. The suspect is pictured above. He is a white male with short hair wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and what appears to be blue jeans. He was also carrying a black jacket. Driscoll said the suspect allegedly tried to shoplift a shirt and four pairs of boxers. When Macy's loss prevention attempted to apprehend him he pulled a knife and ran out of the story. As reported on Burlington Patch, Burlington police responded to a call at 12:18 a.m. of an attempted armed robbery at the gas station. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male under five feet tall and wearing a sweatshirt and blue jeans. A knife was brandished during the robbery. The Burlington Police Department has released a sketch and an updated description of the suspect in a recent armed robbery in the parking lot of the Burlington Mall. As reported on Burlington Patch, on April 30 police responded to a call of a robbery at the Burlington Mall. According to police, a woman was sitting in her car in the lot with her door slightly ajar when a man allegedly pulled the door open and demanded her purse. The victim said the man showed her a knife during the robbery. The female victim was not injured during the robbery. According to the victim the man ran into a nearby executive park.
