Comedic actor Amy Poehler was quite serious, and sincere, when posting a video response to a young fan who asked watching online videos.
Comedic actress and improv aficionado Amy Poehler, who grew up in Burlington and is well known for her work on NBC's Saturday Night Live and Parks and Recreation, put aside the comedy in an online video following the Boston Marathon bombings. The video was part of Poehler's online question show "Smart Girls Ask Amy," that was posted on April 18, three days after the bombing but before one suspect was killed and the other captured. In the video Poehler is responding to a question by 16-year-old fan Millie, who asked about watching videos online. The teenager said many of her friends watch a lot of online videos, and she feels left out when she doesn't participate, but also doesn't see the need to view all of the media on the internet. …

Burlington native Amy Poehler teamed up with friend and former SNL colleague Tina Fey to host the annual awards.
Did you catch the 70th Annual Golden Globes last night? According to the Huffingtonpost.com, the award ceremony this year was the most-watched ceremony on television since 2007, with 19.7 million viewers. Of course there were big winners of actual awards two big ratings winners were hosts Amy Peohler, a Burlington native, and Tina Fay. According to the Huffington Post article the longtime friends made perfect comedy partners with "Fey, a little more wary and neurotic; Poehler, a little more wide-eyed and goofy. And both of them brilliant and fearless." The pair had some good laugh lines during their opening. It seems like every time Amy Poehler and Tina Fey get together something funny happens. Just remember the Saturday Night Live sketches in 2008 featuring Fey as Sarah Palin and Poehler as Hillary Clinton and Katie Couric. The women are together again to host the Golden Globes, set to run on NBC on Sunday, Jan. 13, and in a new promo they stick to their comedy guns. As reported on Vanity Fair, the new promo by NBC, has the two going back and forth on what viewers can expect during the award show.
