Patch readers and friends of Al Fay came out to the library last week for our inauguration ceremony.
Thank you to everyone who attended our presentation of a plaque for Burlington's Unofficial Mayor, as voted on by Patch readers, at the Burlington Public Library last week. Earlier this year we asked readers to nominate members of the community who make a difference and give their time and efforts to the town to be Burlington's Unofficial Mayor. We had nine nominees and after a couple weeks of voting readers chose to elect Albert Fay. The reason we held this race was to create a fun way to recognize those members of the community who have given their time and effort for the town. Burlington may not have an actual mayor, but the town does have many people who help make the community great. Last Wednesday we held a short ceremony at the …

Patch Snap is an occasional post that features pictures from around Burlington or Burlington residents out and about.
Welcome to another edition of Patch Snap, where we highlight a picture or pictures of around Burlington or of Burlington residents out and about. Today's Patch Snap is from Burlington's Patch's Unofficial Mayor Inauguration that took place yesterday, June 13. Earlier this year we asked readers to nominate members of the community who make a difference and give their time and efforts to the town to be Burlington's Unofficial Mayor. We had nine nominees and after a couple weeks of voting readers chose to elect Albert Fay. Yesterday we held a short ceremony at the Burlington Public Library to honor Fay and all those who give back to the community. Burlington Patch will be honoring Al Fay and all of the people who give back to the community with a short ceremony at the library this Wednesday.
Readers voted for him, pushed for him and then elected Al Fay Burlington's Unofficial Mayor. Now its time for the inauguration. Earlier this year Burlington Patch asked readers to nominate members of the community who made a difference and vote for an Unofficial Mayor. Mr. Fay received the most votes and in recognition of him, and all members of the community who volunteer to make a difference, we will be hosting a plaque-presenting ceremony and would love for you to come. The event will be this Wednesday, June 13 at 11 a.m. in the Burlington Public Library. We will say a few words about community participation, present the plaque and give Mr. Fay a chance to say a few words as the new Unofficial Mayor. Coffee and pastries will also be …
