Report of Rollover Accident on 3A Northbound Ramp

The Burlington Police Department reported an accident on its Twitter account.

Traffic could be backing up on Route 3A North as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Burlington Police Department tweeted at 4:10 p.m. today that there are reports of a rollver on the Route 3A northbound ramp to 128 South. Emergency personnel are on scene. It is unknown at this time if there are any injuries.

Report: Traffic Backed Up on Route 128N Due to Accidents

We are hearing reports of gridlock in the Burlington area of Route 95/128, avoid the area if you can.

Heading out on Route 128 North? You may want to wait for a bit. According to scanner reports, including one by Twitter user Mike Moura, there was an accident at Exit 32/Route 3 around 4:30 p.m. that is causing further delays on the highway, which was already moving slowly.

Traffic Alert: Tractor Trailor Rollover in Wilmington Causing Delays on RT. 93

According to scanner reports, an accident on Tuesday morning has closed three lanes of the busy road.

  Updated at 11:19 a.m.: Massachusetts State Police have released an update on the accident, and said traffic will be impacted for "some time." "Three lanes and the breakdown lane have been closed," the release said. "The operator of the truck has sustained some injuries and will need to be extricated from the cab. The extent of the injuries are not entirely known but not expected to be fatal." According to police, troopers from the State Police Barracks in Andover, Massachusetts Department of Transportation and members from the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section are all on scene. Updated: Two Killed in Dec. 20 Mall Road Accident

Chief Yetman of the Burlington Fire Department informed the public today that two people died in the Dec. 20 accident on Mall Road.

Updated 6 p.m. Fire Chief Steven Yetman has provided a couple of additional details on the victims of yesterday's crash. The driver was a 72 year old male. The passenger was an 88 year old female from Boston. Yetman said the names will not be released at this time. Updated 12:58 p.m. Two people have passed away as a result of injuries sustained in yesterday's accident at 25 Mall Road. Chief Steven Yetman of the Burlington Fire Department told Patch today that the two people, and elderly driver and passenger, who sustained injuries and were transported to Lahey Clinic have died as a result of their injuries. Updated: Two Injured in Serious Mall Road Accident

Burlington Police tweeted that there has been an accident on Mall Road that is causing traffic delays.

Updated 7:50 p.m. Captain John Corbatt of the Burlington Fire Department told Patch that two people were transported to Lahey Clinic following this afternoon's accident on Mall Road. Corbatt said the accident involved two vehicles and the injured parties were both in the same vehicle. The occupant of the second vehicle was not injured. Corbatt said he did not have the details to the extent of the injuries suffered by those transported to the hospital. Finally, the rumors circulated on Twitter that a pedestrian may have been involved are false, Corbatt said. Police Investigating Lumber Truck Accident on Middlesex Turnpike

Morning commuters on Middlesex Turnpike saw a wild scene this morning after a lumber truck spilled its contents.

Members of the Massachusetts State Police are investigating how and why a truck lost its load of lumber on the ramp from Route 3 south to Route 128 at about 7:24 a.m. this morning, Boston.com reports. Police said the lumber, which tumbled onto the roadway, slowed but did not stop traffic during the morning rush. No injuries were reported in the incident. The State Police truck team is handling the investigation. Did anyone get any pictures of the lumber accident? We'd love to have them. Report: Accident on Route 128, Expect Delays

There are reports of a motor vehicle accident at Route 128 and Route 3 with a car in the woods.

A heads up to anyone traveling or about to travel on Route 128 Southbound and Route 3 in Burlington. According to scanner and twitter reports, including a tweet by local scanner watcher Mike Maura, there was a motor vehicle accident at the Route 128 and Route 3 exchange. According to the report one vehicle went off the road into the woods. There may also be an engine compartment fire. The two right lanes are blocked and motorists should expect delays.

Accident on Mall Road - Expect Delays

Burlington Police confirmed an accident on Mall Road involving a vehicle and poll is causing traffic delays.

Burlington Police confirmed that an accident on Mall Road is causing back-ups as a telephone poll has been knocked over. Emergency crews are responding to the scene. At about 5 p.m. the accident was reported on Twitter by Mike Maura, a local who follows emergency scanners. He stated: Car into a pole on Mall Road. Pole across the road and on top of a vehicle. Roadway shutdown. Police said the road is not completely shut down but the incident is causing delays during an already busy time for the area. We do not have information on whether anyone was injured. We will update as more information becomes available.

Updated: High-Speed Police Chase Ends in Burlington

The driver who led police on a chase from Boston to Burlington is in custody.

Updated 9:35 a.m. Boston.com is reporting the suspect in the chase is David C. Pare, 19, of Westwood. Original Story A motorist led police on a high speed chase from Boston to Burlington that ended when the stolen SUV he was driving hit a wall, 7News/WHDH is reporting. According to the story, a 19-year-old man driving a stolen vehicle was pulled over in South Boston late Sunday night. The driver fled the scene in the vehicle and state troopers were called to assist in the pursuit, which led down Route 128. During the chase the man reportedly hit at least three police cruisers.  Police laid down a spike strip and were able to blow the two front tires, 7News states. Vehicle Bumps DCU Digital, Breaks Glass

No injuries or structural damage resulted from the accident.

Despite initial reports on Twitter the accident this afternoon at the DCU Digital Federal Credit Union at 91 Middlesex Turnpike did not have a vehicle in the building.  A car did bump the building, breaking a pane of glass, but did not cause any structural damage to the building. Nobody was injured as a result of the accident, an officer at the scene told Patch.  According to the officer, the operator had the vehicle parked in front of the building when he started to feel ill, possibly related to diabetes. He started the vehicle to turn on the air conditioning and somehow accidentally made the car move forward, bumping the building. The operator refused medical treatment following the incident.
