The Complete 2013 Ocars Nominations List - Which Movie Would You Like to See Win?

This year's contenders were announced last week and we'll find out Feb. 24 who wins. Which films, stars and directors get your vote?

Want to know what the Oscars will look like this year? We've got a rundown of all the 2013 Oscar nominations below. As for this year's awards, director Steven Spielberg's historical drama "Lincoln" earned a leading 12 nominations Thursday for the 85th Annual Academy Awards, followed by Ang Lee's"Life of Pi" with 11, while the musical"Les Miserables," directed by Tom Hooper, and David O. Russell's "Silver Linings Playbook" tied with eight nods each. "Lincoln" was nominated for best picture and gave Spielberg his eighth best director nomination. A win would be his third in the director category. It's the eighth film Spielberg has had in the running for best picture (''Schindler's List'' won in 1994). The Oscars: Did Your Favorite Film, Actor Get Nominated for an Academy Award?

Steven Spielberg's film "Lincoln" led The Oscar hopefuls with 17 nominations, but Massachusetts' own Ben Affleck was left off the list of hopeful for best director yesterday when the list of nominees was announced. The Huffington Post reports that the media was abuzz when neither Affleck, Tom Hooper ("Les Miserables") nor Katherine Bigelow ("Zero Dark Thirty") made the list for Best Director.   The trio's films did make the list of movies up for Best Picture, along with a host of others, including Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" and Ang Lee's "Life of Pi." Best Actor nominees include former winners Daniel Day-Lewis ("Lincoln") and Denzel Washington ("Flight"). Jessica Chastain received a nod for her role in "Zero Dark Thirty," and …

Burlington Media Company Looking for Bit of Oscar Glory

Burlington-based Avid, a media technology company, provided editing for seven of the nine films up for a Best Picture Oscar.

A Burlington media technology company will see its work in the spotlight during Sunday night's 84th Academy Awards.  ABC's WCVB Channel 5 in Boston reported today that seven of the nine films up for an Oscar in the Best Picture category were edited by Avid, a Burlington-based media company on Network Drive. Included in the list of top movies is the George Clooney film "The Descendents." According to WCVB, Avid Chief Operating Officer Kirk Arnold said she found the news very exciting, and expects Avid's 600 employees in Burlington to closely watch the Academy awards and root for the company's customers. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close I saw this movie yesterday. If this movie does not affect its viewers, I would be totally surprised. I need to see it again as once was not enough. It is a long movie - about two hours - and I would suggest a Parent preview it before showing it to their children. The subject matter is very deep and emotional.
