Sneaking into a house that's unlocked is one thing but BREAKING AND ENTERING? Then why don't copsRead More just shoot to wound? Unlike the movies someone can feign injury after a gunshot. They could start begging for their lives and all of a sudden one lunges at you and the other one gets you, BAM!....."Adios"

I would want to be briefed by both sides, but from the text, it appears the police are reportingRead More what he said at the time. He could not know in advance whether they were armed or not - since they could have had concealed weapons. Unless he was a trained and experienced gun fighter, once the action started he was acting on pure instinct and terror, as any vet will tell you about their first time in dangerous combat. The episode was unfortunate indeed, but unless I'm missing something here, there is no homicide case due to age and circumstances.

I was thinkin the same thing. If both parents are so huge, why would their 14.5 pound baby make suchRead More big news? If she was a normal sized Mom...I could understand but whatever Mom eats for 9 months is what's building that baby... It is what it is. Ijust hope that newborn is healthy and stays healthy.

The Fluffernutter SHOULD be the symbol of Massachusetts POLITICIANS at all levels. - - - They wasteRead More time on FLUFF and NUTTERY. - - - But, perhaps, it is not entirely the pols fault. The lapdog media must share part of the blame. - - - A case in point: This stupid story made Patch, but hugely wasteful public works projects and gross public sector union contracts are never mentioned. - - - But the pols know perfectly well they will NEVER be held to account for ANYTHING, because they can distract the media and the public with nonsense like a state sandwich. - - - I think we should have a 'state horses anatomy part'. I leave it to the reader to figure out WHICH part I'd suggest... HINT: Look under the tail.

Everyday Mathematics is just one of the programs that makes a heck of a lot of $ off of the millions of textbooks sold to schools that teach to the 'Core.' The Common Core isn't just restricting for teachers & students, it's lining people's pockets.
Susan Harris April 23, 2014 at 10:12 pm

@Danielle, the audible only works good on your smartphone or an MP3 player. You can use it at theRead More gym when reading may not be as convenient (try rowing while reading -- listening works). Or go for a walk outdoors while listening to a book... just be careful crossing streets. I believe there are pronunciations issues with the text-to-speech as it tries to simulate speech instead of being an actual recording like the audio books. Each has it's advantages.
