Clayton Fallon & Nick Curley

What did you do this summer?
A question all kids get asked when heading back to school. For the kids at Empire Sports Club, operated by Ryan & Liz Scottron, part of their answer would be camping, swimming and hanging out with friends. The other part of their answer would be that they got to push their minds, body and spirits to a higher plateau.Take for example a Nick 'The Mayor' Curly and Clay 'The Golden Boy' Fallon. They put in the hours and have been training all summer long to fight in an exhibition at former Heavyweight Champion Johnny Ruiz's gym in Medford. 
John Curly, Nick's father is a walking encyclopedia of fighters and fights. He has watched so much film with his son that during sparring John can call out a former boxer's name and Nick will switch gears and fight in that style. It's quite amazing to witness.Nick's opponent for the exhibition came prepared and ready to fight. Nick out boxed him fast and  overpowered him easily.
Tom Fallon's dedication, past experience and hard work is evident when you see the results of his trained fighters. Take his son Clay for example, in this last exhibition Clays opponent, with more training under his belt, was eager and aggressive in warm up. However as soon as that bell rung Clay came out and exploded with a three punch combination that sent his opponent to the ropes. Clay quickly realized he was under matched and showed restraint.  Instead of throwing more combinations that he knew would buckle his opponent, he worked on defense and footwork honing his craft. This earned him the respect of all who were witnessing the match.What's next at Empire? The fighters and trainers are getting ready for the upcoming season of tournaments. The Fall Boxing Camp with Fallon is fast approaching. Empire also offers adult training classes for all levels. Until next time,Kid Gallahad
