Week Ahead - Students Heading Back to School

Five things to know about the week ahead.

Welcome to our weekly column taking a look at the week ahead. Here are five things to know about this week:

1) Mostly sunny, cooler by end of the week

After some chance of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday the rest of the week looks pretty clear. According to the National Weather Service we can expect mostly clear skies with small chances of isolated showers through the week. Temperatures will be in the 80s early this week and falling to low 70s by the weekend.

2) Back to School

Burlington Students will be heading back to school today. Look out for children walking to bus stops and to the schools while driving. Also, did you get pictures of your students heading out to their first day of school? Share them for our gallery of Back to School pictures

3) Development

The Burlington Planning Board is meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Click here for the agenda

4) Historical Society presents "Tales of RCA"

"Ed Tkacs, a former employee of RCA and a long-time Burlington resident will share with us the history of RCA. RCA was the first major player in the electronics industry in our town. Many people in town once worked for RCA and we hope they will come to our meeting, have a cup of coffee and enjoy all the memories with Ed. Historical Society always welcomes new members. We are non-profit and the guest fee is only $2.00."

5) Quilting

The Burlington Public Library will be hosting a meeting of the Quilting Club on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All are welcome.
