Taste of Burlington is Tonight and Other Events this Week

Five things to know about this upcoming week.

Welcome to Monday Essentials, our weekly column taking a look at the week ahead. Here are five things to know about this week:

1) Hot mid-week 

Looks like summer will be back for a bit during the middle of the week. According to the National Weather Service we can expect temperatures in the low 70s on Monday but the mercury will rise to 80 on Tuesday and near 90 on Wednesday. The week will end with relatively cool temperatures in the low 70s. Otherwise looks like there is only a slight chance of showers this week on Tuesday and Thursday.

2)  Taste of Burlington 

The much anticipated Taste of Burlington returns to the Hilton Garden Inn, 5 Wheeler Road today from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Many Burlington and local restaurants are set to participate. Click here for the details

3) Board of Selectmen 

The Burlington Board of Selectmen is meeting Monday night starting at 7 p.m. in the main hearing room at Town Hall. Included on the agenda is a vote on approval of the new bow hunting policy for the Landlocked Forest. Click here for the full agenda

4) Toastmasters 

The Burlington Public Library is holding a meeting of the International Toastmasters on Thursday from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Toastmasters International which is dedicated to helping members improve their communication and leadership skills. The Last Word Toastmasters Club invites guests to a fun-filled, stress-free, supportive group. There is no cost to attend a meeting. No signup or registration is necessary.

5) Sandbag Stage Left 

The Burlington Players open their season with Jack Neary's hilarious courtroom farce, "Sandbag Stage Left", running September 14-28. Click here for more information
