Monday Essentials: Winter Photo Walk at Mary Cummins Park, Family Movie

A look at the week ahead.

Welcome to Monday Essentials, our weekly column taking a look at the week ahead. Here are five things to know about this week:

1) Cold weather

Looks like a cold week ahead of us. According to the National Weather Service there will be daytime temperatures in the low 20s in the beginning of the week and temps in the high teens by the end of the week. Overnight temperatures will be in single digits this week. There is also a chance of snow on Thursday.

2) Public meeting

The Planning Board is meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday in the main hearing room at Town Hall.

3) Holiday family movie

The Burlington Public Library is holding a viewing of "Rise of the Guardians" at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. Watch the movie with the whole family. Popcorn will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring drinks and other snacks (No Nuts). Just Drop-In, no registration necessary.

4) Make a thank you card

Have people to thank from the holidays? The Burlington Public Library is inviting people to make homemade thank-you cards on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

5) Photo walk

The Friends of Mary are holding a photo walk on Saturday at 10 a.m. "Cold weather brings lovely ice formations, which make for great winter photography," the event post states. "Join us for a photo-walk at Mary Cummings Park. See our webpage to learn more: http://cummingspark.org/photowalks. Dress warmly, and conquer the cold."
