Monday Essentials: Santa and Mrs. Claus to Visit BCAT

Five things to know about the week ahead.

Welcome to Monday Essentials, our weekly column taking a look at the week ahead. Here are five things to know about this week:

1) Wintry weather 

Looks like a week of wintry weather ahead. According to the National Weather Service we can expect a chance of snow early Monday morning with a possible 1 to 3 inches of accumulation followed by a mix of snow, sleet and rain until turning to all rain in the afternoon. There is a also a slight chance of snow Tuesday but then will clear up but temperatures will dip to between 25 and 30 for the rest of the week. 

2) Public meetings 

The Recreation Commission is meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday in the Burlington High School Committee Room. The School Committee is meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the BHS School Committee Room. Click here for a complete list of public meetings

3) Santa at BCAT 

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will make their annual visit to Burlington Cable Access Television from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each child that joins BCAT at the studio will receive a free Christmas character bendy toy. Parents should be sure to set your recorders at home, as the children will meet Santa LIVE on BCAT. Children can also call in to the show if they can't make it to the studio to talk with Santa. 4) New career help 

The Burlington Public Library is hosting a Career Transition program from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This is a networking and workshop dedicated to providing a 'roadmap to re-employment' for transitioning professionals. It is free and all are welcome.

5) The Real School of Music December Showcases

The Real School of Music is holding it's December student showcase starting on Saturday. The showcases will run from the 14th to the 21st from 6-8 p.m. in the Real Room in both locations. Our December student showcases will run from the 14th-21st from 6-8pm in the Real Room in both locations.
