Monday Essentials: Girl Scout Sing-up, Chowder Fest and Town Meeting

Five things to know about the week ahead.

Welcome to Monday Essentials, our weekly column taking a look at the week ahead. Here are five things to know about this week:

1) Sunny with Autumn temps 

Looks like a nice fall week ahead. According to the National Weather Service we can expect mostly sunny skies through the entire week. Temperatures will start in the low 60s early in the week and raise to the low 70s by the weekend. 

2) Town Meeting 

Burlington Town Meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. on Monday in the Burlington High School auditorium. Click here to see the warrant

3) Burlington Girl Scouts Fall sign-up

Know a young lady looking to make new friends and learn new skills. The Girl Scouts are holding a sign-up at St. Malachy Parish, 99 Bedford St., on Monday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. There is a $25, 2013-2014 membership fee. For more information contact join@burlingtongirlscouts.org.

4) Give the gift of life 

The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive on Tuesday from 1 30 to 7 p.m. at the American Legion at 162 Winn St. All presenting donors receive a coupon from Monro Muffler. Blood donors needed. 

5) Chowder Fest 

Want to try some old fashioned New England Chowder? Atria Longmeadow Place, in conjunction with the Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce, is holding "Chowderfest 2013, a culinary event to benefit the Burlington Food Pantry. The event is on Wednesday. Click here for more information
