Monday Essentials: Blood Drive and Performances of 'The Nutcracker'

Five things to know about the week ahead.

Welcome to Monday Essentials, our weekly column taking a look at the week ahead. Here are five things to know about this week:

1) More snow possible, high temps at week's end

Looks like we may get some more snow but some of it may melt away at the end of the week. According to the National Weather Service we can expect temps in the low 20s on Monday and an 80 percent chance of snow on Tuesday. The temperatures will be in the low 30s through most of the week but will be around 45 degrees on Friday.

2) Public meetings

The Recreation Commission is meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday in the Recreation Department Conference Room in the Human Services Building. The Board of Selectmen is meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday in the main hearing room in Town Hall. The Planning Board is holding a special meeting to discuss the town's marijuana policy at 9 a.m. in the basement meeting room in the Town Hall Annex.

3) Give the gift of life

Donate blood and give back this holiday season. The American Red Cross and the American Legion on Winn Street are hosting a community blood drive at the legion on Tuesday from 1:30 to 7 p.m.

4) Nutcracker

The New England Movement Arts studio, located at 123 Muller Road, is holding four performances of The Nutcracker starting on Friday and continuing through the weekend. Click here for more information.

5) Holiday tea party

The Burlington Public Library is holding a "Holiday Tea Party" at 11 a.m. in Wednesday for toddlers and preschoolers. "Come in your best Holiday outfits and have tea (juice) and cookies," the event post states. "Holiday stories, songs, and fun will be had by all. Just drop-in"
