Help Clean Up the Landlocked Forest Tomorrow

The Burlington Conservation Commission is looking for volunteers to help clear tires out of the landlocked forest this Saturday morning.

The following is a release from the Burlington Conservation Commission:

Are you tired of tires? We are too.

That is why the Friends of the Landlocked Forest, Burlington Conservation, and the Greater Boston Chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association have teamed up to hold a good, old-fashioned, tire clean-up.

For many years, tires were carelessly dumped in and around the wetlands at the Landlocked Forest. This unsightly trash is also potentially hazardous to the environment, as chemicals leach from the tires and into the water. It is time to do something about it and your help is needed in getting the tires out of the forest.

Bring your boots. Bring your work gloves. Bring your altruistic attitude and come work with good friends. Tires will be rolled, carried, or otherwise transported to an awaiting truck which will take them to their ultimate recycled destination.
