Support Coaches vs. Cancer at Rahanis Park this Thursday

Coaches vs. Cancer will be collecting donations at the girls tennis match against Wakefield to benefit the American Cancer Society.

The following is a relase by the National Association of Basketball Coaches's program Coaches vs. Cancer:

Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that empowers athletic coaches, their teams, and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer.  The goal is to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living among students, faculty, school staff, fans, and the community at large, through year-round awareness efforts, fundraising activities, and advocacy programs.

The Wakefield match on Thursday, May 17 will be played in honor of loved ones lost and those who have survived their cancer battle at 3:30 at in Burlington. For a $1 donation, a cup will be placed in the fence at Rahanis Park around the tennis courts in their honor or memory.  Donations are tax deductible and may be made in cash or check, payable to the American Cancer Society.

The cups will be arranged to spell out different phrases promoting cancer awareness and permanent markers will be available to write out any names or messages on each cup. If the match is postponed due to rain, the fundraising event will still take place on the rescheduled match day which would be available on the Burlington High School Athletics website.     

Please come to Rahanis Park on Thursday, May 17th at 3:30 pm to promote healthy living, cancer awareness, and cheer on the Lady Devils who currently hold a record of 9-1.
